Douglas Dotan on AI's Role in Patient Safety and Purpose-Driven Healthcare Partnerships
Part of our 'Brand Voice Runway' series, this is Hersh's interview with Douglas Dotan, whose mother died from septicaemia. The condition was misdiagnosed as her having a heart attack; had she been diagnosed and treated with antibiotics in a timely manner she probably would have recovered. She suffered multiple-organ failure and he watched her pass away. Having served as a pilot in the Israel Air Force and as a professional Air Safety Investigator, Douglas turned his attention to improving patient safety.
Douglas life's passion has been to discover dysfunctions and problems before they become malfunctions and crises. He have been doing this in healthcare for the last two decades. More than 1,000 patients die every day in the United States from preventable harm caused in our healthcare system. He work every day to help clinicians continually improve their processes to prevent patient harm and death.
